Monthly tornado siren test canceled — Everbridge will conduct test

Because of the continuing rainy weather today, there will not be a monthly tornado warning siren test at noon today. Tornado tests are usually scheduled for the first Friday of the month at noon, depending on the weather.

The Everbridge Notification System will conduct the monthly test for individuals who have signed up to receive messages on their personal electronic devices.

Residents are encouraged to have multiple ways to receive severe weather messages and may sign up for Everbridge at bartholomew.in.gov or at columbus.in.gov.

Tornado sirens are activated by the Bartholomew County Emergency Operations Center when the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning or when a tornado has been seen in the area.
