Take time to give back

As the weather warms, your heart can do the same as you reach out with your gifts and talents toward nonprofits who covet your education, experience and expertise. Below are some volunteer options to consider, and many more possibilities inside on Page B?.

1 HOUR

You can score big: SCORE needs volunteers who are interesting in helping start-up and/or experienced entrepreneurs. Helpers ideally need a background in business or related field such as legal, accounting, banking, retail, technology, etc. They will counsel small businesses in one-hour, face-to-face, confidential, free sessions with clients. THREE HOURS

Help others get cooking: Developmental Services Inc. needs three volunteers to deep clean the kitchen used for cooking classes for clients. Time commitment: Three to four hours, anytime between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Information: Hanna Hodnett at [email protected]; 812-376-9404 ext. 161.

FOUR HOURS

Making a brighter day: Brighter Days Housing: Needs an unlimited number of volunteers to supervise residents of the facility. Staff will accompany volunteers.
