FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Documents have been removed from a Colorado county’s website because citizens who submitted them did not realize they would be open to the public.

KMGH-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2pxzI92 ) Larimer County records such as death certificates, child support enforcement liens, federal tax liens and others were taken down because they contained personal information.

The documents had been found to contain sensitive information during a KMGH-TV investigation.

The records removed are still public, but now must be requested to view.

Will McDonough called the KMGH-TV Investigates tip line to bring the issue to light after discovering his social security number on the county website.
