Norshel Allen Gilley, 70, of Columbus, died Saturday May 6, 2017, with his wife and daughters at his side.

Mr. Gilley worked at Cummins as a tool and die maker and an engineer from 1976 until 2008. He also worked at Hartup Tool and Die and was the owner of NC Tool and Machine.

Norshel loved fishing and was a former member of the Winding Waters Bass Club.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary Catherine Gilley; father, Londie Gilley; and brothers, Rick and Jeff Gilley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Sandy R. Gilley; daughters, Cindy (Steve) Yeaton of Batesville, IN, and Chere (Steve) Frettinger of Bluffton, IN; grandchildren, Grace (Tyler) Oda and Clay Yeaton, both of of Batesville, IN, Rebecca Frettinger of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Wes and Will Frettinger, both of Bluffton, IN; great-granddaughter, Margot Blanco of Batesville, IN; mother, Lillian Gilley of Columbus; brothers, Roger (Sondra) Gilley, Chalmer (Pam) Gilley and Denny (Amber) Gilley, all of Columbus, and Keith (Trudi) Gilley of North Vernon; and sisters, Jill (Tony) Garris of Elizabethtown and Jennifer (Danny) Fields of Columbus. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Myers-Reed Chapel with Damon Marling and Steve Yeaton officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Ogilville Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 12 and one hour prior to service time Saturday, also at the funeral home.
