The Christmas Cabaret at The Commons show with former “Glee” TV star Jane Lynch sold out five hours after seats were available Thursday to the general public.

The organizing Columbus Indiana Philharmonic has now begun a waiting list for tickets, since the audience configuration — currently at 450 seats — may allow more to be added for the Dec. 7 event, said Katelyn Ice, the orchestra’s marketing director.

“We’ll know more next week after Lobsterfest,” Ice said.

She referred to the 7 p.m. Saturday meal fundraiser — one that also sold out with about 400 tickets — that helps fund the Philharmonic’s concert and music education programs that reach more than 13,000 adults and children each year.
