Eagles take third
ELLETTSVILLE — Wyatt Wyman won the 800 meters, and Brown County took the 4×800 relay on its way to a third-place finish in Thursday’s Western Indiana Conference meet.
Host Edgewood won the meet with 84 points. West Vigo finished second with 76, and the Eagles scored 71.
Wyman ran 2 minutes, 1.85 seconds in the 800, 1 second faster than teammate Job Lawson, who finished second. Wyman, Lawson, Jackson McPheeters and Isaiah Keefauver took the 4×800 relay in 8:13.27.
Wyman also finished second in the 1,600 in 4:27.49, and Keefauver took second in the 400 in 51.35. McPheeters, Lawson, Blake Hudson and Keefauver were second in the 4×400 relay in 3:36.76.

Trinity routs Shawe
SEYMOUR — Hannah Deaton and Morgan Gabbard combined on a two-hitter to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 13-1, five-inning win against Madison Shawe.
Jaryn Holtsclaw and Savannah Harweger each had three hits for the Cougars (11-5), while Morgan Gabbard, Sophie Stahl and Vidalis Montanez all added two hits. Montanez, Stahl and Whitney Cobb all had two RBIs.

Cubs topple Cougars
MADISON — Trinity Lutheran won in straight sets at No. 1 singles, but Madison won the other four matches to claim a 4-1 victory.
Courtney Barker triumphed 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles for the Cougars (2-11). Abby Schult fell 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, and Leah Stuckwisch lost 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
Trinity’s Macey Prewitt and Lauren Fleetwood fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Lauren Voss and Sidney Hoene lost 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
