Construction work began on Interstate 65 on Thursday night to replace pavement between Whiteland Road and State Road 44 in Johnson County, north of Columbus.
The work will continue through May 25, said the Indiana Department of Transportation, which has hired Milestone Contractors for the $84 million project.
Single lanes will close during daytime hours and double lanes will close at night, INDOT said.
Inclement weather could affect work and lane closing schedules.
