GRACEVILLE, Fla. — Authorities say an elderly couple was killed in a Florida Panhandle crash when another driver ran a stop sign and hit their car.

Northwest Florida Daily News (https://goo.gl/QortFh) reports that 81-year-old Jo Faye Jenkins Smith and 88-year-old Joseph Hatcher died early Friday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol says Smith was driving on a state road when 26-year-old Shawn Borden failed to stop at the sign and flashing red light. Borden’s truck hit the car, leaving the couple dead and Border hospitalized with minor injuries.
