Jack Edward Collins, 57, of Columbus, passed away at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at his residence.
Born Nov. 21, 1960, in Bartholomew County, Mr. Collins was the son of Albert and Helen Welch Collins.
Mr. Collins was a self-employed construction worker and had previously worked for the former Dolly Madison Bakery in Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker and euchre.
Survivors include his son, Benjamin Collins of Columbus; his companion, Angie Barnett of Columbus; sister, Cheryl Nicely of Lake City, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Teresa Mozingo.
A funeral service for Mr. Collins will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Edward Wooddell officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
