DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University is honoring its outgoing president Richard Brodhead by naming a building for him.

A university news release on Saturday says its trustees approved naming the renovated West Union building for him. It will be called the Richard H. Brodhead Center for Campus Life.

The building is used for student meals and gatherings.

Brodhead is stepping down June 30 after 13 years at the school’s helm.
