George Robert Walls, 77, of Nashville, passed from this life at 7:46 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He was a member of 7th Street Church of God and worked in maintenance at United Way. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed camping, yard work, working on cars, and gardening.

The funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Jerry Ballard officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to time of service.

Mr. Walls was born on Sept. 7, 1939, in Kentucky, the son of Ansel and Wanita Mullis Kinser.

He married Ruth Hoover on July 25, 1960.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years; his father, Ansel Kinser of Bloomington; children, Barbara (Johnny) McCarter of Columbus, Sondra Walls-Smith of Hope, Allisa Disbro of Bloomington, Jerry Walls of Brown County and Allen Dean (Tara) Walls of Columbus; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Debbie (Alan) Kinsey of Columbus; and brothers, Timmy Kinser of Linton, Steve Kinser of Columbus and Jim Walls of Elizabethtown.

He was preceded in death by his mother; son, Larry Dean Walls; and a great-grandson, Allen Robert Walls.
