CHICAGO — Two men who were shot to death as they sat inside a car at a traffic light on Chicago’s West Side have been identified.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office says the victims are 23-year-old Deshawn Johnson of Broadview and 24-year-old Breyon K. Cowans of Chicago.
Chicago police say the two men were stopped at a traffic light at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood when someone in a black Chevrolet pulled next to them and opened fire before speeding off.
After the shooting, the victims’ car drifted down a street and struck a man in a wheelchair. Police say the man’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Police said No arrests have been made.
