WITTMANN, Ariz. — Authorities say a 13-year-old girl has been killed and three other people injured in a crash involving a big rig and a mini-van on U.S. 60 in Wittmann.
The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Monday and closed both lanes of the highway around crash scene for hours.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the girl was ejected from the mini-van and was declared dead at the scene.
Her name wasn’t immediately released.
Three other people were taken to hospitals for treatment of injuries, but DPS says the driver of the big rig wasn’t hurt.
The cause of the crash remains unclear.
Wittmann is located about 35 miles northwest of Phoenix.
