MACON, Ga. — Authorities in Georgia say they’ve arrested a Macon man in connection with a double shooting that killed his daughter and wounded his wife.

The Macon Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/2rhsPuL) Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy Clay Williams says 67-year-old Benny Bell Jr. was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated assault and murder in the death of 37-year-old Demetrice Bell.

Demetrice was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, 65-year-old Thelma Bell was shot in the abdomen. She was brought to the hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Williams says the shooting resulted from an argument that transpired when Demetrice Bell returned home at 3 a.m. He says the father retrieved a gun and shot both during a struggle.

It’s unclear if Bell has an attorney.
