HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Authorities say a man who was operating a snowmobile without snow on the ground escaped injury after crashing into a fence in northeastern Indiana.

The crash in Huntington happened amid warm spring temperatures.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says in a statement that the 62-year-old man was operating the snowmobile “at a high rate of speed.” The DNR says he went into a driveway and struck a fence in a yard. He could be cited for the crash.
