NEW YORK — Police say one man is dead and another is hospitalized after they were shot in New York City.

The New York Police Department says officers responded around 8:30 a.m. Sunday to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 144th Avenue and 227th Street in Queens.

When officer arrived they found a 38-year-old man with gunshot wounds to this head and a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his torso.

Both victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where the 38-year-old was pronounced dead. The other man is listed in stable condition.

The names of the victims are being withheld until their families are notified.

No arrests have been reported. The investigation is continuing.
