Columbus North and Trinity Lutheran high schools earned top spots as state champions in different divisions of the 2017 Academic Super Bowl competition.

Columbus North competed in high school division Class 1 and won the math division and finished third in the science division.

Trinity Lutheran competed in Class 4 and won the English division and placed second in the fine arts and math divisions.

Columbus East also competed at the event, but did not make it to first place. However, they did walk away with third place in the interdisciplinary round.

Schools were divided into classes based on enrollments. The high school level competition includes five subject rounds of English, science, social studies, mathematics and fine arts. A sixth interdisciplinary round contains questions that may come from any and all subject matters, according to the IASP website.
