Gas prices jumped to record highs in Indiana and across the nation, with several stations in Bartholomew County selling a gallon of self-serve unleaded gas for $3.39.

1992

Two sets of developers proposed new subdivisions totaling 234 lots, Broadmoor Addition east of Central Avenue and south of Rocky Ford Road, and Country Wood Farms, west of County Road 150W and south of County Road 300S.

1967

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Heflin donated 27 acres of land along Driftwood River south of the former Heflin Camp site which county commissioners planned to lease to the local Breakfast Optimist Club to use as a recreation area for underprivileged children in the city and county.
