RALEIGH, N.C. — Officials say the 18-year-old man charged with raping a 16-year-old girl in a Wake Technical Community College parking lot was a high school student.

The News & Observer reports (http://bit.ly/2pFweX0 ) Wake County public schools spokeswoman Lisa Luten said Monday that Randy Bladermer Chavez-Argueta is enrolled with the Wake Early College of Health and Sciences, whose students take some classes at Wake Tech. She did not say if the girl was enrolled in the early college program

He has been charged with one felony count of second-degree forcible rape in connection with the March 3 incident, according to the arrest warrant. He was arrested Friday morning and is being held in the Wake County jail on $250,000 bail. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
