PENFIELD, N.Y. — Authorities say two people have died after their vehicle crashed and overturned on a suburban Rochester road.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a man and a woman in their 20s were found dead inside the vehicle around 6 a.m. Tuesday on Harris Road in the town of Penfield, just east of Rochester. Deputies say they learned from people living near the crash scene that a loud noise was heard around 3 a.m.

The vehicle was found in a wooded area along the road, which remains closed as police investigate the cause of the crash.

The victims’ names haven’t been released.
