JONESBORO, Ark. — Investigators say a shooting in northeast Arkansas that killed one man and injured six people may have stemmed from an earlier altercation.

The Jonesboro Sun (http://bit.ly/2qRVA3Z ) reports investigators told a judge Tuesday that an incident occurred between four men, including two men now in custody, just before the shooting early Sunday in downtown Jonesboro.

The details of the earlier incident weren’t disclosed.

Authorities say the shooting happened during a party, killing 18-year-old Monterio Barnes and wounding six people who were hospitalized in undisclosed conditions.

A 19-year-old man surrendered to police later Sunday and was arrested on a murder warrant in connection with the shooting and a 20-year-old man was arrested Monday in Texas on a murder warrant related to the shooting.

Formal charges have not been filed.
