SHREVEPORT, La. — Centenary is looking for a new men’s basketball coach after Adam Walsh stepped down.

Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. Bob Bunnell announced Walsh’s resignation Wednesday.

Bunnell, in a news release, says Walsh has accepted the head coaching position at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia — his hometown.

Beginning with the Gents’ program as an assistant coach for the 2007-08 season, Walsh became the youngest head coach in NCAA Division I for the 2010-11 season.

The 2014-15 team won a share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship, the first regular season title for the Gents in basketball since 1990. He finishes with an 84-100 record after posting a 1-29 mark his first season.
