ARLINGTON, Va. — Arlington County Police say officers shot a driver who they say struck an officer during a traffic stop.
Authorities say the shooting occurred about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when officers pulled over a car on Interstate 395 in the D.C. suburb of Arlington, Virginia. Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage says as officers walked to the car, the driver hit one of them with his vehicle. A second officer shot the driver.
Police say the driver was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The officer hit by the car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A second officer was treated on the scene.
