LAKESHORE, Miss. — Authorities say a Mississippi man assaulted and threatened to kill two ambulance workers who had come to help him.

The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/2qqGSjf) 18-year-old Parker David Waltman allegedly assaulted two American Medical Response employees Monday night after an ambulance crew responded to a call for emergency medical attention. He was charged with simple assault of an emergency medical worker and retaliation against a medical public servant.

Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam says Waltman was convulsing and when AMR arrived he didn’t follow orders.

Adam says the man spat on and then threatened to kill the crew. He also twisted the arm of a worker, who later required medical attention.

Authorities say Waltman appeared to have drug-related issues. It’s unclear if Waltman has an attorney.
