Walk a dog, get some exercise through event

Community members are invited to interact with pets available for adoption while getting a little bit of exercise.

The Second Annual Human Walking Project will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 25 at Mill Race Park. Downtown employees and residents of Columbus are encouraged to participate.

Erica Bishop, a student at Northside Middle School and volunteer at Animal Care Services, has organized the event this year.

More than 60 people attended last year’s inaugural event and walked dogs; six of them filled out adoption applications. Animal Care Services and other local pet adoption organizations are hoping to build on this success this year.
