Josephine Smith, 76, of North Vernon, died at 10:09 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
She is survived by a son, Roger Hicks of North Vernon; daughter, Joanna (Johnny Mason) Bailey and Joyce Anna (Jason) Hamlin, both of North Vernon; step-sons, Greg (Ronda) Smith and Jerry (Viola) Smith, both of North Vernon; step-daughters, Tina Stout of Tennessee and Debbie Smith and Kim Yonts, both of North Vernon; brothers, Fred Vaughn of Indianapolis, Harson Vaughn, Arnold Vaughn Jr. and James Vaughn, all of Monterey, Tennessee; sisters, Norma Jean Randolph and Mildred Roe, both of Monterey, Tennessee; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Bailey; second husband, James Smith; and step-daughter, Jacqueline Bailey.
A funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Michael Biggs officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the State Street Community Worship Center or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
