PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia police say a 22-year-old man was critically wounded in an ambush shooting while sitting in his car, but they’re not sure why he was targeted.
Police didn’t immediately release the name of the man, who was able to tell them he was parked outside a friend’s home before the shots were fired about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Scott Small says at least eight bullets struck the victim’s vehicle or windshield, and he was hit with several in the arm and torso. He’s expected to survive despite being in critical condition.
Police are reviewing surveillance video and have yet to charge or name any suspects.
