Philharmonic group heads to Broadway

The Notables, a volunteer branch of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, are sponsoring a trip to New York City from Aug. 17 to 20 to see two Columbus natives — both with links to the orchestra — on Broadway.

The trip is to allow locals to see Marja Harmon in “The Book of Mormon” and Mary Claire King in “War Paint.” Reservations are due May 31.

Harmon will perform in a pair of Christmas concerts with the orchestra Dec. 9 at Judson Erne Auditorium. And King has performed both with the orchestra and in its Cabaret at The Commons series, selling out its first show Jan. 8, 2015.

Cost per person, including travel, lodging, some sightseeing and some meals, is $2,684.
