Jenny’s picks – May 25

  1. I haven’t seen to the movie “Sing” yet, but I can catch it at 6 p.m. today at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. “Sing” is rated PG; the library is screening it as part of the Autism Friendly Movie series. Information: 812-379-1255.
  2. As Memorial Day approaches, I think it’s a good time to remember all of the people who served in our military branches. Locally, a great place to do just that is the Yellow Trail Museum, located on the west side of Hope Town Square at 644 Main St. The museum features thousands of items donated by members of the community to tell the story of Hope’s heritage. Along with the tools, housewares, clothing, pictures, doctor’s office, grocery items, hardware, barber shop and agricultural items, the museum has a military display. The museum visitor information center has opened; new hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays, with extended hours during special events in town. Appointments to visit other times can be arranged by calling 812-546-8020 or 812-371-7969.
