Paul E. Nay, 77, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at his home with his family surrounding him. Born July 11, 1939, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Avery Nay and Virginia (Carmichael) Noblitt. On June 21, 1959, in Reddington, he married Faye Marcum.

Paul had worked at Kroger for 24 years and then went to work for Seymour Manufacturing in 1976, where he worked until he retired in 1997. He was a member of the Ogilville Christian Church. An avid outdoorsman, Paul loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Trap Shooting Association. He also enjoyed gardening, watching birds and butterflies and even mowing yards. Paul treasured his time with family, spoiling his grandsons and visiting friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye; son, Glen (Sandy) Nay of Seymour; daughter, Kim (Thom) Barnett of Seymour; grandchildren, Tyler (Rachel) Nay of Seymour, Alex (Shelby Zakutansky) Barnett of Indianapolis and Evan (Bailey O’Connor) Barnett of Seymour; siblings, Marvin Dale (Karen) Nay of Southport, Charles (Bonnie) Noblitt of Mitchell, Daniel Nay of Ohio, Ed (Pam) Nay of Columbus, Brenda (Larry) Carpenter of Seymour and Keith Nay of Columbus. Paul also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Mary Nay; and sister, Mary June Nay.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Friends can visit with the family from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Per Paul’s wishes, cremation will take place with burial at a future date at Reddington Cemetery.
