Rain or shine, look for outdoors Salute!

The 17th annual Salute! concert at the Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans on the Courthouse Lawn will go on as planned, despite a few days of soggy conditions and a chance of rain from late afternoon Friday through early that night.

Friday’s AccuWeather forecast calls for temperatures in the mid-70s when the 7 p.m. concert begins, cooling just slightly by the time the concert ends at about 8:45 p.m.

Columbus Indiana Philharmonic Music Director David Bowden made the call Thursday morning to hold the concert outdoors as originally planned, marketing director Katelyn Ice said.

The first Salute! concert was moved indoors to The Commons in 2001, and the second in 2002 was abbreviated by rain.
