Eva Nell Slinker, 68, of Greenwood, formerly of Columbus, died at 6:20 p.m. May 24, 2017, at her home.

Eva was born Feb. 7, 1949, in Monroe County, Kentucky, the daughter of Samuel Newton and Eddie Mae Key Gentry. She married Larry Dean Slinker April 9, 1965.

Eva was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved helping others and spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and gardening and was devoted to her family and grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Galligar officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Dean Slinker; son, Jason T. (Jennifer) Slinker of Franklin; daughters, Melissa A. (Christopher) West of Franklin and Amy L. (Paul) Donica of Greenwood; brothers, Johnny (Betty) Gentry of Kentucky, Randall Gentry of Hope and Dale (Wanda) Gentry of Kentucky; sisters, Geraldine Jackson, Wanda (Doug) Miles and Anita (Larry) Bragg, all of Kentucky; grandchildren, Macy West, Mallory West, Madison West, Mackenzie West, Emily, Cole and Isabelle Donica, Alexis Slinker and Noah Slinker; and a great-grandchild, Aiden Slinker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant twin sons, Larry and Jerry Slinker; and a brother, Billy Gentry.
