James Noggle

James Noggle, age 82, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on June 30, 1934, in Urbana, Illinois, as the son of Wave L. and Elizabeth G. (Conard) Noggle. Mr. Noggle received his bachelor’s in Television and Radio and a minor in business and industrial supervision from Western Michigan University. While at college he was active with the service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. He served in the Army.

He worked for Frontier Communications as a technician for many years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Lions Club in Seymour, Indiana, and a 26-year member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Indiana. He was also an Eagle Scout and then continued his path with the Boy Scouts by becoming a Boy Scout leader for many years. He loved the outdoors, including fishing and camping; was active in the church, where he especially enjoyed singing with the choir; and did copper enameling.

James is survived by his children, Laura (Tim) Reardon of Greenfield, Andrew J. Noggle of Greenfield and Heidi Noggle of Seattle, Washington; step-sons, Greg Trimnell of Florida and Mike Trimnell of Columbus, Indiana; two grandchildren, Christopher (Kristin) Thomas and Austin Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, Cyah Thomas and Hayden Hinton. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara (Austin) Noggle; second wife, A. Geneva Noggle; and brother, Phillip Noggle.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church, 2611 Fairlawn Drive, Columbus, Indiana 47203. After the service, there will be a casual fellowship of friends and family at the church.
