Olympians down Pirates

GREENSBURG — Columbus East bounced back from Thursday’s loss to Columbus North with a 156-170 win against Greensburg Friday at Greensburg Country Club.

Thomas Ruch fired a 36 to win medalist honors and lead the Olympians. Mark Mayhew added a 38, and Derek Alexander and Nathan Cesarski each shot 41.

Mustangs topple Eagles

NASHVILLE — Parker VanNess won medalist honors with a 35, but Brown County fell to Edgewood 175-186 Thursday at Salt Creek.

Ben Rygiel carded a 46 for the Eagles. Tyler Poling added a 51, Dawson Dunnuck shot 54, Brendan Asher had a 55 and Rex Watters finished with a 65.

Eagles, Panther qualify

BLOOMINGTON — Brown County advanced in two events, and Jennings County qualified in one to Friday’s state finals with top-three finishes in Thursday’s Bloomington North Regional.

Brown County’s Wyatt Wyman finished second in the 800 meters in 1 minute, 58.19 seconds. Wyman teamed with Job Lawson, Jackson McPheeters and Isaiah Keefauver to take second in the 4×800 relay in 7:59.21.

Jennings’ Dalton Craig finished third in the 1,600 in 4:27.45. Craig, Alex Hendrix, Franklin Sanders and Ryan Gasper just missed a state berth after taking fourth in the 4×800 relay in a school-record 8:08.87. Carter Leak was sixth in the 3,200 in 9:58.01.
