Ruth M. Singer, 69, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at 12:03 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Ruth enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and caring for her two dogs. She graduated Columbus High School in 1966, and, on May 26, 1990, married Drew Singer in Columbus. Last Friday marked their wedding anniversary of 27 years.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2017, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease.

Mrs. Singer was born in Seymour, Indiana, April 26, 1948, to the late General Mack and Mildred Louise Kinworthy Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Drew; children, Michael (Joanne) Beck of Indianapolis and Lori (Isabella) Bailey of Columbus; grandchildren, Jared England, Hillary (Emily) England, Anthony Beck, Maria Beck, Veronica Beck and Felicity Beck; great-grandchild, Kyndal; siblings, Judy Robison of Vallonia, Marcy (Harry) Holcomb of Florida, Larry (Toni) Smith, Ronnie (Pam) Smith, Cyndi Brown, all of Columbus and Jami (Cara) Smith of Hope; sister-in-law, Sandy Smith, also of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnnie Smith; nephew, Kenny Smith; and brother-in-law, Joe Mack.
