KINGMAN, Ariz. — Authorities in northwestern Arizona have identified the pilot who died in the crash of a motorized hang glider over the weekend.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday said 63-year-old Eulice Melton Evans Jr. of Golden Valley died in the crash.

A witness told deputies he saw the aircraft flying near Walnut Creek in Golden Valley early Saturday morning and watched as it climbed and then dive into the ground.

The witness hiked to the site, found the crashed aircraft and called deputies. Evans was dead at the scene.
