GREENVILLE, S.C. — At least two people have been killed in a crash on an interstate highway in South Carolina.

The wreck happened shortly after 5 a.m. Friday on Interstate 385 in Greenville.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office told local media two people have died. Their names have not been released.

Greenville police spokesman Johnathan Bragg said the wreck involved two tractor trailer rigs, a pickup truck and a sedan.

Bragg said one of the tractor-trailers crashed into traffic stopped for road construction.

Police Chief Ken Miller said the victims were in a car crushed between the tractor trailers. Miller said a third person in the car was seriously injured.

The tractor trailer drivers suffered minor injuries. The driver of a pickup pushed down an embankment suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
