GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Authorities say a teenager was fatally struck while running across a North Texas interstate with three other teens.

Grand Prairie police spokesman Lyle Gensler says at least two vehicles hit the unidentified teen as he stopped to pick up something on Interstate 20 early Friday morning. The teen died at the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw the other teens huddling in a parking lot, looking over at those who stopped to help the teen who was struck.

Gensler says the teens then took off into a residential area. He says police would like for those teens to come forward to help authorities understand “what happened and why it happened.”
