COLUMBIA, S.C. — An argument at a graduation party lands a South Carolina man in jail after he’s accused of shooting to death a relative.

Columbia police said Sunday they arrested 26-year-old Christopher Jamaal Jones a man at the family gathering Saturday night and charged him with murder.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as 31-year-old Jarritt Demonteze Rodgers. Watts said Rodgers died during surgery after being shot in the neck and upper body.

Bond for Jones has not been set and it wasn’t clear if he’s represented by an attorney.
