LOS ANGELES — Police say an officer was injured while responding to a shooting call and a suspect was killed in Los Angeles.

LAPD spokesman Josh Rubenstein said an officer-involved shooting occurred in the Wilmington area Tuesday night but would not specify who fired or how the suspect died.

Rubenstein says the officer first thought he had been shot in the arm, but later realized he hadn’t. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
