Marvin Wayne Jeffries, 58, of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:17 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at the home of his brother in Springfield.
Marvin was born Nov. 12, 1958, in Columbus, the son of Raymond and Nettie L. Redmon Jeffries.
Marvin was an over-the-road truck driver, working several years for IWX Trucking and Quality Trucking, both out of Springfield, Missouri. He enjoyed drag racing.
Survivors include his son, DeVon Stevens Jeffries of Tarpon Springs, Florida; siblings, Bobby (Roberta) Jeffries of Columbus, James (Kathy) Jeffries of Springfield, Missouri, David and Kevin Jeffries of Columbus, Susie (Larry Brunson) Robinson of Redkey, Rosemary Purtlebaugh of Franklin, Nancy (Kenny) Rotert and Betty Spears of Columbus, Jackie (Orlando) Stern of Franklin, Juanita (Jeff) Hill of Columbus and Lela (Ron) Browning of Scottsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald, Raymond Jr. and Frank Jeffries.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Section 83 at Garland Brook Cemetery with Brother Bruce Bond officiating.
