State chooses Bartholomew County for On My Way Pre-K program

Bartholomew County is among 15 additional counties now eligible to participate in the On My Way Pre-K program, which makes prekindergarten services available next year to 4-year-olds from low-income families.

Earlier this year, the Indiana General Assembly expanded the program from five pilot counties, which included Jackson County, to 20 counties by passing new legislation.

In addition to Bartholomew, other counties added are DeKalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Floyd, Grant, Harrison, Howard, Kosciusko, Madison, Marshall, Monroe, St. Joseph, Tippecanoe and Vigo.

Those counties will join Allen, Jackson, Lake, Marion and Vanderburgh as part of the program, the original five selected by the state in 2015. Bartholomew County was a finalist in 2015 for the program, but was not selected.
