James “Jim” Sutherland, 89, of North Vernon, died at 1:40 p.m. June 5, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Surviving with his wife, Peggy Sutherland, are daughters, Brenda Lockwood, Linda Banister, Mary (Jay) Elliott and Lisa Trent, all of North Vernon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Sutherland will be conducted at noon Thursday at the Commiskey Baptist Church in Commiskey with the Rev. Jerry Begley officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Commiskey Baptist Church or Mercy Rescue and Adoption.
