HARDWICK, Vt. — Police have arrested a Hardwick man accused of causing two arson fires in town.

WCAX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2r35uk6 ) that 19-year-old Brian Couture Patrick faces two felony counts of second-degree arson. His attorney said Wednesday that he is pleading not guilty.

Police say one fire was set in November 2016 at an empty town storage building and second destroyed a historic flood zone property in late May.

Police say he confessed to lighting egg crates to start the November fire but told police he wasn’t responsible for the second fire.
