SALISBURY, Md. — State and local police in Maryland are searching for multiple suspects after two separate overnight shootings in Salisbury.
Maryland State Police say a preliminary investigation has found 57-year-old Anthony Cropper answered a knock at the door of a home around 1 a.m. on Saturday, when he apparently was confronted by several suspects. Cropper was at the home of a friend when the shooting occurred. Several people inside came to his aid and called police. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the motive in the shooting is unclear.
Meanwhile, police say they are investigating a second fatal shooting. It happened at the VFW in Salisbury. Police say Jaquanta Walton was approached by an unknown suspect who shot him. Police say there’s no indication the shootings are related.
