NORTH VERNON — A pedestrian died in a single-vehicle accident at 2:41 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of North State Road 7.
Jennings County Sheriff deputies said Ronald W. Dailey, 69, North Vernon, was driving south on State Road 7 in a 1998 silver Honda Accord when his vehicle partly left the west side of the road and struck Seve R. Reynolds, 28, North Vernon, said Lt. Mike Mowery, Jennings County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
Witnesses told deputies that Reynolds was walking south towards North Vernon on the west side of State Road 7 when the accident happened, Mowery said.
Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s office. The coroner’s office has determined that Reynolds recently moved to North Vernon from Minnesota. A cause and manner of death is still under investigation.
An investigation into the accident is continuing, Mowery said. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor at this time, he said.
