• city council member Frank Miller for understanding the impact of multiple increased taxes and fees on lower- and fixed-income taxpayers, an often-overlooked group.

• Pat Hampton for replacing the battery on my favorite watch, from Sandy.

• Kevin Rich at Frank Anderson Tire for fixing my tire Monday morning, from Carol Gleason.

• the nonprofit organization that expects employees to give up weekend nights to do work for them and be away from their family.

• people who are neglecting the small cemetery on County Road 450N between State Road 9 and Marr Road.

• the city for not having its own employees data-mine information using search engines instead of paying exorbitant prices for studies.

• people who walk out in front of cars without looking.

• the Indiana attorney general for his column against legalizing medical marijuana.

• the person who stole the cover for the spare tire on my RAV.

• neighbors who have nothing more to do than stick their noses in people’s business where it doesn’t belong.

• the community that thinks another salary study is going to help city employees, from a retired firefighter with 32 years’ experience who went though earlier studies that never resulted in raises, at least to firefighters.

• the facility we rented Friday evening that provided no air conditioning during our wedding reception.

• women who go to church and act like Christians but are mean to other women outside of church.
