NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Rhode Island State Police say a one-car crash left two people dead and one person seriously hurt in North Smithfield.

Police say the vehicle was traveling northbound on state Route 146 early Tuesday when it went into a grassy median, hit a guard rail and rolled over several times, ejecting its three occupants from the car.

Police say 24-year-old Karissa Harrison, of Johnston, and 30-year-old Henry Feliz, of Providence, were declared dead at the scene.

A third occupant who hasn’t been identified was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

Police say none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts. Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.
