Alan “Lee” Allen, 93, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

He was a retired farmer and served in the U.S. Army.

Lee attended Hartsville Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, reading, camping and playing cards.

Born on June 22, 1923, in Brown County, Lee was the son of Howard and Grace Roush Allen. When he was 14, his parents died and he and his sister were raised by his aunt and uncle, Ralph and Cora Williams. Lee married Dorothy M. Dunkelbarger on Dec. 6, 1947, in Hartsville. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2012.

Survivors include daughters, Pamela K. (Robert) Crussel and Kathy S. (Danny) Summers, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Nathan (Bridget) Crussel of Hamilton, Ohio, Michael (Amanda) Crussel of Westfield and Sean (Erin) McNear of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Holden Crussel of Hamilton, Ohio, Caleb Crussel of Westfield and Keller, Layla and Savannah McNear, all of Columbus; and sister, Eloise M. (James) Brown of Michigan City, Indiana.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his aunt and uncle, Ralph and Cora.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
