Nashville, Tennessee man arrested after car trouble in Columbus

A Nashville, Tennessee man sought in connection with an arson case in Tennessee was arrested in Columbus.

Columbus Police Department was notified Friday that William S. Warner, 23, Nashville, Tennessee, was possibly in the Columbus area after his vehicle had a flat tire, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers learned from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms investigators who were investigating the arson of a Goodwill store in Tennessee that Warner had a warrant for his arrest and was possibly armed with a handgun, Harris said.

At 5:35 p.m. Friday, Officers Travis Harbaugh and Michael Beerwart located Warner walking on State Road 46 and he was arrested at gunpoint, Harris said.
